Sources & methodology

BlightForge exists because launch-week guide sites are mostly templates: domains registered before release, filled with plausible-sounding content nobody verified. Several Beast of Reincarnation “wikis” literally shipped with the text “unknown stats stay unset”. Our rule is the opposite: every fact carries a confidence label, and gaps are published as gaps.

The four levels

• Steam-verified — straight from Steam: the Web API’s live achievement percentages, the store page, official metadata.
• corroborated (2+ sources) — at least two independent sources agree (professional reviews, Game8’s hands-on tables, community reports that match).
• community-reported — a single credited source; named where it appears.
• unconfirmed — we don’t know, and we say so instead of making it up.

Sources we currently draw on

• Official Steam store page and the Steam Web API (achievement percentages, refreshed regularly)
• Game8’s launch-day wiki (boss table, skill guide, armor table) — hands-on but single-source until corroborated
• Launch reviews: PC Gamer, VGC, RPGFan, MonsterVine, AltChar and others
• System explainers: GamerFuzion, PixelNitro, Nerdschalk, GamesRadar
• Credited community reports — Reddit, Steam discussions, and submissions via contact

What we refuse to publish

Unverifiable lists (see the fabricated blade list called out on the weapons page), invented numbers (parry frames, SP costs), and strategy text written without anyone having played the fight. When a reader proves us wrong with a screenshot, the correction ships same-day and the reader is credited — that has already been the working loop on our previous site.
